A problem that needed a solution
More than 15 years ago, while fishing off the coast of northern Spain, I was faced with a frustrating problem: every time I cast towards the tuna aviaries, the knot would pass through the rod rings, wearing them out and, in some cases, breaking them and even breaking the knot itself. This problem not only damaged my equipment, but also limited my chances of casting far and reaching those magical moments when the tuna broke the surface of the water.
Inspired by anglers using Wind-on Leaders to catch large species such as marlin and giant tuna offshore, I decided to adapt this technique to the demands of popping and jigging . This is how an innovative solution was born that eliminated bulky knots and marked a turning point in my way of fishing.
